George "Pete" M. Wolford, age 82 of Fremont, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at his family's farm home following a short illness. Pete was born on October 28, 1934 on the family farm to Alfred Amos and Blance M. (Howe) Wolford and later married Dorothy M. Dewey on August 15, 1953 in Fremont. Pete had worked as a maintenance technician at Standard Automotive in Muskegon for many years until his retirement. Pete had been an active member of the Fremont Christian Church where he had served as Deacon and Elder; had enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years, enjoyed tinkering and taking care of his yard but especially treasured the time he spent with his family.

Pete is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Wolford; his children, Drew (Colleen) Wolford of Plymouth, Michigan; Fred Wolford of Fremont; Angela (Maurice) Bolles Jr. of Fremont; honorary daughters, Sue Bradford of Traverse City and Sharon Carrns of Spring Lake; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his son, Steven Wolford and 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

VISITATION : Friday, March 3, 2017 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel and Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 10-11am at the Fremont Christian Church prior to the memorial services. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11am at the Fremont Christian Church 10 E Elm Street Fremont. INTERMENT : Evans Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Fremont Christian Church for carpet replacement.
