George Junior Martin, age 81 of Twin Lake, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the SKLD Nursing Center in Whitehall. George was born on May 20, 1938 in Hastings, Michigan to George Allen and Marian (Marion) Martin and married Barbara Gustafson on July 4, 1964 at St. Jean's Catholic Church in Muskegon. George was veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Navy. George has been a resident of the Twin Lake area for the past 50 years where he had worked at Campbell Wyatt and Cannon as a maintenance technician for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. George was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick and had enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, working in his garage – tinkering and doing yard work. George is survived by his wife, Barbara of Twin Lake; his children, George Martin of Florida, Geoffrey (Valerie) Martin of Twin Lake, Gina (Robert) Cregg of Twin Lake, Galina (Octavio) Rodriguez of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jessica (Brett) Younts, Mikayla (Emily Dorjath) Martin, Garrett Martin, Hayden Cregg; and great-grandchild, Emalee K. Younts. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Daggett and Marie Waid; and brother, Darrell Martin. There will be visitation for George on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, from 6 - 7:30 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Military rites and a short service will follow the visitation starting at 7:30 PM. Interment will be on Thursday at 11 AM at Riverton Cemetery near Scottville.
