George A. Phillips, age 73 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. George was born on March 27, 1934 in Ludington to William E. and Marie (Wells) Phillips and later married Alta Maxine Hodges in 1957 in Angola, Indiana. George had been a brick maker and truck driver in Ludington prior to his retirement and had enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and watching old movies and television. George is survived by his wife, Alta of Hesperia; his brothers, Frank Phillips of Ravenna; Carl Phillips of Hesperia; his step son, William (Linda) Phillips of Flint; 3 step grand children; several step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary and brothers, Peter and Guy. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of gathering and luncheon was held on March 8, 2008 at the Hesperia American Legion, 4075 S 198th Ave Hesperia Michigan.
