George Edward Streit, age 92, of Twin Lake passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at his home. George was born on June 26, 1924, in Chicago to Frank and Elizabeth (Greuber) Streit and later married Florence Rasens. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.

George is survived by his daughters, Joan Rutzen of Texas and Linda Chico of Illinois; grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" (Deb) Jr. Rutzen, Stephen (Luann) Rutzen, Mark (Linda) Rutzen, Jim Rutzen, and George (Amy) Rutzen; and many great-grandchildren. George was preceded by his wife Florence in 1968, and all his brothers and sisters.
