Georgiana "Jo" Clary, age 88 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Regency of Fremont. Jo was born on March 31, 1934 in Beaver Township to Elijah I. and Leona (McGahan) Smith and graduated Valedictorian in 1953 from Walkerville High School. Jo later married Donald F. Clary on January 28, 1956 at the Bitely Community Church where her parents were married years before and her siblings would all follow suit. Jo and Don would reside the rest of their lives in White Cloud. In the early years of their marriage, they were members of the Valley Squares Square Dancing Club and square danced across the State of Michigan as well as on WPBN-TV. Jo worked numerous years at Gerber Baby Food Company in Fremont but was more known for her job as waitress/bartender at the Lamplight Inn where her patrons lovingly called her Ma-Jo, Aunt-Jo or Ma Clary. In her retirement, she could be found volunteering as a member of the White Cloud Lions and later as a member of the White Cloud Eagles. Jo is survived by her son, Don (Laurie) Clary of White Cloud; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; her siblings, Wanda Agens, Ida Best, Iva (Byron) Fairchild, and Roger (Vicky) Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Leona; her husband, Donald F. Clary; her children, Donna Thompson and Charles Clary; and her sister, Esther Parks VISITATION : Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the White Cloud United Methodist Church 1125 Newell Street White Cloud MI 49349.
