Gerald Ronald Baker, age 84, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, September 1st, 2024. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 17th, 1940. In 1959, Gerald enlisted in the Airforce and spent the next 3 years being an Aircraft Mechanic. In 1965, he married the love of his life; Judy (Hoffman) Baker and started a wonderful life together full of memories that will last a lifetime.

Gerald served in the Air Force and loved to relive his time and had many stories to share. He was the owner-operator of Jerry's Garage since 1969 and was a dedicated member of the Croton American Legion Post for 54 years, starting the Post and participating in the Honor Guard and Forty/Eight. Gerald will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gerald was survived by his beloved wife; Judy Baker, his children Keith (Neida) Baker and Barbara (Brian) Middleton, his best four legged friend and companion; Owen, as well as his grandchildren Brent Baker, Brandon (Madison) Baker, Jazlynn Baker, Jasper Baker, Elijah Baker, Heather (Joe) Kooistra, Katie Middleton, Felicia (Paul) Garza, Adam Middleton, and Andrew Middleton. He also leaves behind 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, his sister Beverly Cornett, sisters-in-law Janet Jankowski, Bonnie Hoffman, brother-in-law Robert (Penny) Hoffman and many nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Adalaide Baker, his sister Diane, and infant daughter.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6th, 2024 from 11am-1pm at Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel. Military honors will be conducted at 1pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:15pm. A luncheon will be held at the Croton American Legion immediately following the service.
