Harris, Gerald W. Gerald W. Harris, age 75 of Newaygo, passed away Thursday, May 03, 2007 at his home following a lingering illness. Gerald was born on February 11, 1932 in Goodwell Township to Clarence R. and Carrie (Bower) Harris. Gerald has been a lifelong resident of the area and moved to Newaygo in 1994 from Goodwell Township. He married Dorothy Brummer on March 8, 1965 in Newaygo and had worked at the Teledyne Continental Motors Company in Muskegon for many years as a machinist until his retirement in 1976. Gerald enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, hunting and gardening at home. Gerald is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy of Newaygo; his children, Rhonda (Jim) Lomonaco of Wyoming; Carol (Ronald) Harmon of Newaygo; Michael (special friend-Sandra Whorton) Frisbey of Old Town, Florida; his grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Vegter; Amy (Michael) Mix; Brian Lomonaco; Chad Lomonaco; Eric Frisbey; Gerald Anderson; Terry (Amanda) VanWestrienen; April (Brian) Battjes; Jessica (Quinn) Rasmussen; Melissa Platz; great grandchildren, Mason Battjes; Michael Battjes; Taylor Battjes; Samantha VanWestrienen; Quinn Rasmussen Jr.; Emma Rasmussen; Zane Frisbey; Michael Mix III; his brothers, Malcom Harris of Muskegon; Richard (Marjorie) Harris of Barryton; Edwin (Shirley) Harris of White Cloud; Mac (Sue) Harris of Ravenna; his sisters, Violet (Lin) Gitchell of Big Rapids; Joyce (Richard) Roebeck of Newaygo; Carol (Delbert) Buckley of Newaygo; Linda Eichenberg of Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly Kae Harris; grand daughter, Karrie Jo Shade; mother, Carrie (Milferd) Haney; father, Clarence (Lillian) Harris; sister, Lorraine Soukup; brothers, Raymond Harris; Emmanuel Piazza. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 7, 2007 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Father Chris Rouech presiding with interment in the Goodwell Township Cemetery.
