Geraldine D. Burkett, age 96 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home. Geraldine was born on January 1, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to John A. and Frieda (Meyer) Pratt and later moved to Fremont in 1929. Geraldine married Ernest Burkett on September 14, 1933 in White Cloud. Ernest preceded her in death on April 14, 1985. Geraldine had been a homemaker and making enjoyed ceramic dolls and all types of ceramics. Geraldine moved and lived on Bois Blank Island for many summers and also enjoyed traveling with her special friend Leonard Kryszynski all over the United States including Texas, Maine and Alaska. Geraldine is survived by special friend, Leonard Kryszynski of Fremont; her daughter, Margaret Peggy Schotts of Holton; her son, Donald Burkett of Twin Lake; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Sylvia Hobby on December 16, 2010 and Mona Pfiffer on June 16, 2006; her granddaughter, Sandra Hobby; her grandsons, James Schotts, Joseph Pfiffer on July 14, 2014 and Donald Burkett Jr. on August 31, 1991; her son-in-laws, Art Schotts and Tom Pfiffer; her sisters and brother, Louise Wright; Mary VanderVelde; Ruth Lewis and Jacqueline Howe; Virginia Howe and Harold Pratt. VISITATION :Monday, January 5, 2015 from 12-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, January 5, 2015 at 2pm at the funeral home. INTERMENT : East Hesperia Cemetery.
