Gertrude Joyce Herlein, age 81 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. She was born on March 14, 1919 in Muskegon to John and Ida (Bush) Herlein. She was preceded in death by a brother Lammert Herlein, sisters Henrietta Start, Trena Kesteloot, Joan Karafa and Anna Cole. Surviving are two sisters Edith Maassen of White Cloud , Ruth Vaughn of Fairfield, Illinois, many nieces and nephews. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel in Fremont with Rev. George Elliott officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
