Gertrude A. Potter, age 92, of Fremont went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 21, 2003 . She was born on September 2, 1910 , in Garfield Township to Charles J. and Celia A. (Nelson) Christenson and married Henry Donald Potter on December 28, 1929 , in Newaygo. She was a retail sales clerk and Past president of the Professional Womens Club. She was Past Worthy Matron of Unity Chapter #61 O.E.S. in Newaygo and past president of the Muskegon District O.E.S.. Gertrude was also a longtime member of the Fremont United Methodist Church serving in several womens groups. Gertrude is survived by 2 children, Dianne Sue (Thomas) Kempf of Fremont and Donald W. (Vicki) Potter also of Fremont; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Velma (Duane) Maitland of Muskegon and Joyce Johnson of Newaygo; sister-in-law Irene Potter of Otsego; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Donald Potter in 1998. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 , from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with Rev. Bertram Vermeulen officiating with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
