Gladys J. Baker, age 85, of White Cloud and formerly of Cambridge, Maryland, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial in Fremont. Gladys was born on July 6, 1926, in Cambridge, to Thurman and Lilly (Crosby) Robbins and was a public school teacher in Modesto, California until her retirement. She was president of the AARP for several years, member of Women of the Moose in Fremont, an active bowler at Fremont Lanes, and a huge sports fan. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Deborah Burton of White Cloud and Judy Cook of White Cloud; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Whaples and Doris Cannon; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Gaines. A celebration of Gladyss life will be held at 3 PM, on Saturday May 12, 2012, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont.
