Gladys, L. Tinkham, age 87 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Gladys was born on September 11, 1928 in Bitely to Claire and Nora (Batchelder) Crandall and later married Mernard N. Tinkham Sr. June 26, 1948 in White Cloud. Mernard preceded her in death on August 3, 2014. Gladys has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area and had worked at Gerber Products Company in Fremont and later as a janitor at the Hesperia Public Schools. Gladys enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and word search puzzles and had enjoyed painting by numbers. Gladys is survived by her children, Lawrence (Tina) Tinkham of Hesperia; Loretta Krause of Hesperia; Mernard (Patty) Tinkham Jr. of Fremont; Randall Tinkham of Hesperia; William (Denise) Tinkham of Hesperia; Colleen (Jake) Holthues of West Yellowstone, Montana; Dwayne (Val) Tinkham of Hesperia; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Mary Ellen Clarkson of Washington State; Eleanore Rose of Hesperia. Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Ethelyn Wright, Arvilla Kuck, Irene Booher, Ivan Crandall, Ruth Cowley.
