Glendon "Glen" Martin Homister, age 82, of White Cloud passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Regency at Fremont. Glen was born on September 6, 1938, to Murl and Helen (Keck) Homister and married Nancy Irene Erickson, sharing 28 years of marriage together. Glen was a transportation supervisor and enjoyed baking and smoking meats. He took great pride in his dogs, hunting with his beagles and going to dog shows. In his younger years, Glen was a soft ball pitcher and later was a sanctioned umpire for many years. Glen is survived by his children, Lee Ann (Mike) Chaffee of Fremont and Martin (Rose) Homister of Holton; 6 grandchildren, Adam (Sarah) Freriks, Beth (Eric) VanTreese, Christopher (Ericka) Freriks, Jamie (Allen) Boucher, Steve Wirt, and Jen (Kevin) Giles; great-grandchildren, Trinity Freriks, Blake VanTreese, Anna VanTreese, Aiden Freriks, Elaina Freriks, Aubrey Feriks, Kaela (Josh Pollack) Carrier, Lizzy Carrier, Emmy Carrier, Jasmine Wirt, Braxten Ward, Nevaeh Wirt, Payton Wirt, Kinidee Wirt, Layla Giles, and Reese Giles; sisters, Joyce Smith and Lucille Garza; and many nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded by his wife, Nancy in 2016; great-granddaughters, Rylee Jean Giles and Hannah Marie Wirt; brothers and sister, Carl, Howard, and Norma Jean. Graveside services for Glen will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday June 5, 2021 at Grant Center Cemetery (15486 21 Mile Road Big Rapids, MI 49307).
