Glendora VandenBerg, age 80 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. She was born on April 1, 1921 in Fremont to Herman H. and Laurena (Meeuwenberg) Boeskool and worked in the market research division at Gerber Products Company in Fremont until her retirement in 1980. She has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area and was a 1939 graduate of Fremont High School. She was also a member of the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Fremont. She is survived by her children, Lorna R. (Lee) Hoppa of Fremont; James F. VandenBerg of White Cloud; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Harold) Kalsbeek of Fremont; her brothers, Robert (Mary) Boeskool of Grant; Richard (Rose Ann) Boeskool of Lacota, MI; her sister-in-law, Matilda (Tillie) Boeskool of Ithaca. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Boeskool and sister, Helen Schipper and twin sister Glenowyn Lipps. Funeral memorial services were held on Friday, May 11, 2001 from the First Congregational United Church of Christ Church in Fremont with Rev. Frank Vietze presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Area Library for memorial contributions.
