Glenn J. Peterson, age 71 of Newaygo, passed away Wed. at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont following a short illness. He was born on April 18, 1929 in Woodville to Harry and Reka (VanAssen) Peterson. He was a devoted husband of 51 years to Joan (Hill) Peterson whom he wed on June 18, 1949 in Grand Rapids. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be missed greatly by his family. He had worked as a millwright until his retirement and was a veteran of the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Joan of Newaygo; his children, Deanne Gulla of California; Brian (Dawn) Peterson of Kent City; Richard (Deborah) Peterson of Big Rapids; his grandchildren, Chenan; Jacob; Jeremy; and Travis; his mother-in-law, Ruth Lapham of Florida; his brother, Edward H. (Vivian) Peterson of Coopersville; his sister, Marian Della Newland of Birch Run; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Peterson in August. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 18, 2000 from the Woodville Community Church with Pastor Foster Brummell presiding with interment in the Woodville Cemetery.
