Obituary

Glenna Mae Morgan, age 94 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. Glenna was born on April 12, 1928 in Fremont to Clesson C. and Alma D. (Inman) Gillette and graduated from Fremont High School in 1946. Glenna met and later married Francis "Frank" C. Morgan on June 6, 1947 in Fremont and Frank preceded her in death on November 14, 2012. Glenna had been a Belle Telephone operator in her younger days and had enjoyed spending time with family at the mouth of the Two Hearted River and at the Rainbow Lodge near the mouth of the Two Hearted River. Glenna also enjoyed rock hunting, watching television, playing cards with family and had a wonderful ability to grow and propagate African violets. Glenna is survived by her children, Susan Kay (Kurt) Sanderson of Fremont and Mitch James Morgan of Fremont; grandchildren, John David (Kari) Faltinek, Michael James (Pragati) Morgan, and Melissa Raene (Michael) Gibbons; her great grandchildren, Savannah Lynn Faltinek, Lucas Morgan and Claire Gibbons; her brother, Jack Gillette of Fremont; several nieces and nephews. Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Morgan and her sister-in-law, Barbara Gillette. A gathering and celebration of Glenna's life will be held in the spring of 2023 at Sanderson Woods in Fremont with the date and time to be announced later.
