Alger Sr., Gordon L. An angel has come to take a special one, who was loved dearly by his family, and will be much missed. Gordon L. Alger Sr., husband of Rose (Stanley) Alger of 54 years. Gordon passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon in Muskegon. He was born on May 2, 1928, in Muskegon, to Chester and Lila (Bader) Alger. Gordon was a graduate of Big Rapids High School, continued his education at Ferris State University, and graduated from The University Of Michigan with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He was an auditor and accountant for Gerber Products Company in Fremont for 43 years. Gordon was active in the White Cloud community and proudly served on the City Council, Fire Department for over 10 years, School Board, and Robinson Lake Improvement Association. He was a member of the White Cloud Eagles Arie #4170, coached Little League, was instrumental in starting the White Cloud Jaycees, and was an active supporter of the White Cloud Summer Festival. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Rose of White Cloud; children, Sandy (Sam) Cruzan of White Cloud, Diane Wykes of Fremont, Tom (Joyce) Alger of Big Rapids, Gregg (Sandy) Alger of Fayetteville, N.C., Kelly (Mindee) Alger Sr. of Fremont, Gordon (Jolene) Alger Jr. of White Cloud, Tracey (David) Foster of White Cloud, Asa (Jonas) Englund of Sweden; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister Florence (Edward) Bullman of Twin Lake. Private family services remembering Gordons life were held at at the Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud.
