Gordon F. Baumunk, age 92 of White Cloud, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at his home. Gordon was born on April 4, 1917 in Woodville to Frederick and Sophia (Peterson) Baumunk and moved to the Big Rapids area at an early age. Gordon grew up in the Big Rapids area and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1936. Gordon met and later married Ruby Fowler on November 29, 1943 in Woodville. Gordon had been a residential builder for many years in the White Cloud and Big Rapids area. Gordon enjoyed being in the Michigan outdoors, gaming, especially playing Keno and Gordon and Ruby enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada which they had done for over 40 years. Gordon is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby of White Cloud; his brother, Lloyd (Shirley) Baumunk of Big Rapids; sister-in-laws, Velma Matson of Sylvania, Ohio; Hazel Fowler of White Cloud; brother-in-law, Barney Fowler of White Cloud; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
