Gordon D. Durkee, age 86 of Fremont, passed away at the Faith Hospice of Holland Home – Trillium Woods Center in Byron Center. Gordon married Shirline F. Tucker on July 17, 1954 and Shirline preceded him in death. Gordon had worked at Gerber Products Company for over 30 years until his retirement and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gordon is survived by his children, David (Mary) Durkee of Canadian Lakes, Michigan; Brian (Nancy) Durkee of Battle Creek; Kathy (Robert) Klawieter of Rockford; Lisa (Norm) Brummel of Fremont; 8 grandchildren, Paul (Rebecca) Durkee; Jenny Durkee; Sara (Bud) Dunn; Amanda Durkee; Lauren Klawieter; Alicia (Charles) Hisey; Courtney Klawieter; Ethan Brummel; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Valerie Durkee. Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Lafayette Durkee; his mother, Beulah Mae Slocum; and his stepfather, Harvey Slocum. Private graveside services were held at the Saranac Cemetery.
