Gordon L. Valkier, age 79 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Fountain View Retirement Village in Grant. Gordon was born on April 28, 1936 in Grand Rapids to Neal Jacob and Martha (Pentinga) Valkier and later married Nanette Marie Christian on September 12, 1959 in Coopersville. Nanette preceded him in death on April 30, 2012. Gordon had worked as a mason for Pitsch Wrecking and Valkier Construction and later retired from Ample Plastics. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman hunting and fishing and enjoyed visiting with friends over a cup of coffee. Gordon is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Dale) Williams of Newaygo; Cynthia (Ray) Coronado of Grant; Lucinda (Jon) Perrin of Coopersville; 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Michael, Jessie (Cody); Jonathan, Trisha, and Tyler; 6 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Joan, Donna, Kay and Nancy; his brother, Ray; sister-in-law, Bonita; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Gene and his sister, Maxine. Following Gordons wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held in January at the Newaygo Cemetery next to his wife, Nanette.
