Obituary

Grace L. Wildfong Harper, age 77 of Hesperia, passed away Monday, July 9, 2001 at the Nelson Adult Foster Care Home in White Cloud. She was born on November 5, 1923 in Ohio to Leroy and Edith (Pawnshott) Ogden and married Frances D. Wildfong on August 24, 1945. Frances preceded her in death in October 1976. She later married Harry R. Harper on May 20, 1977. She had been a LPN at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon for several years until her retirement. She had also taught school at the Croton School for several years. She was a veteran of World War II where she served in the United States Army Womens Air Corps; was a member of the Holton American Legion, Cobb Trygstad Anderson Post #397; and had been active in the Foster Grandparents Program in Hesperia. She is survived by her husband, Harry R. Harper of Hesperia; her children, Jim (Kathy) Wildfong of Ravenna; Michael (Marilyn) Wildfong of Twin Lake; Patrick (Jane) Wildfong of Indiana; Frances "Jake" Wildfong of Muskegon; Madeline Sherman of Fremont; step children, Ronald, Dale and Linda; 23 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; her sister, Glady Agee of Ohio. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 11, 2001 from the Holton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Bremer presiding with military honors given by the Holton American Legion, Post #397. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
