Mr. Graydon E. Sherman, age 88, passed away Monday, May 27, 2002, surrounded by his adoring family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Virgine and his brother Glendon. He will be sadly missed by his sons Gary (Judy) Sherman of Whitehall, Dick (Leslie) Sherman of Fremont, Jim (Jackie) Sherman of Comstock Park, daughter Linda Steele of Grand Rapids, his five grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, his brothers Gerald and Gale, his dear friend Mary Fitzpatrick, and many other special friends and family members. Graydon spent his entire life in the Fremont area and had many happy memories of his years at Sherman Hardware. He enjoyed reminiscing about his family and the many people he has known in Fremont over the years. Graydon will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness, positive attitude, wonderful sense of humor, and devoted love of his family. He truly lived his life by the "Golden Rule." Funeral services were held on Friday, May 31, 2002 at the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Duncan officiating. Interment is in Maple Grove Cemetery.
