Gregory Robert Dykema, age 57 of Holton, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his home.  Greg was born on April 1, 1966 in Grand Haven to Charles M. and Janet L. (Beehler) Dykema and graduated from Fremont High School in 1984.  Greg has been a lifelong resident of the area where he served in the United States Army and United States Army National Guard until his retirement as Sergeant First Class.  Greg had been the Casualty Assistance Officer for the 1436th Engineer Company out of Montague, Michigan and was a member of the Holton American Legion.  Greg had a heart of serving both to his country and to his family and had a strong work ethic and would help his family and strangers.  He built his own home and enjoyed hobby farming his entire life, growing tulips and vegetables and then canning his harvest.

Greg is survived by his daughters, Chelsea (Ethan) Higgs and their children, Dalton and Weston; Brittany (Adam) DeKryger and their children, Reyna, Lauren, and Casey; Kristina (Zac) Hummel and their children, Caxton and Alaina; Sarah (Jeremy Pikaart) Dykema and their son, Layton; his former wife, Amy Dykema.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Janet Dykema and by his sister, Kimberly J. Woods.
