Harold G. Clark, age 79 of Newaygo, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Harold was born on June 12, 1932 in Bronson, Michigan to Warren Jay and Goldie Mae (Scott) Clark and has been a longtime resident of the Newaygo Area. Harold married Nancy Davis on June 19, 1982 in Newaygo and was a member of the Newaygo United Methodist Church. Harold worked in the road construction industry and helped build M-37 just North of Newaygo heading towards White Cloud in 1984 and later worked in the pipeline industry in Colorado. When Harold returned to Michigan, he started work as a custodian at the Vera Wilsie School in Newaygo and later retired from the Newaygo Middle School in 1994. Harold enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife and was a man of strong Christian faith. Harold is survived by his wife, of 29 years, Nancy of Newaygo; his children, Debbie (Bob) Hester of Florida; Cindy (John) Beezley of Twin Lake; Robin Sue (Gary) Yeasley of Belding; Robin Gail Howald of Big Rapids; Steve (Paula) Clark of Belding; Melissa Gregory (Dan Miller) of Fremont; Danielle Clark (Charles Carson) of Grand Rapids; his daughter-in-law, Becky Clark of Greenville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his mother and father, Warren and Goldie Clark; his sons, Harold Clark Jr. and Craig Clark; his brothers, Richard Clark and Robert Clark and his sister, Elgene Poll. VISITATION : Monday, November 21, 2011 from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel and Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 12-1pm at the Newaygo United Methodist Church. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 1pm at the Newaygo United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Groff presiding. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : to the Clark family to assist with expenses.
