Obituary

Harold R. Hendrie, age 78 of Fremont, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Harold was born on February 19, 1935 in Fremont to Maver Nick and Susie (Barnett) Hendrie and has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. Harold had worked at the Gerber Products Company as a retort operator until his retirement in 1984. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. Harold had enjoyed visiting with friends; golfing, fishing, hunting in his younger years and listening to baseball on the radio. Harold was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Fremont. SURVIVORS : special friend, Maxann Splitstone of Fremont; his children, Cindy (Michael) Cooper of Fountain; Troy (Danielle) Hendrie of Fremont; 5 grandsons, Evan Michael Cooper; Seth Michael Cooper; James Booth; Seth Booth; Brody Robert Hendrie; his sisters, Faye (Sonny) Bolles of Hesperia; Barb (Ed) Dean of Grant; Judy (John) Dean of Grant; Martha (Ralph) Radillo of New Mexico; his brothers, Carl (Marlene) Hendrie of Fremont; Jim (Norma) Hendrie of Portland, Oregon; his several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Menting on Sept. 21, 2010; his brothers, Charlie and Chester Hendrie and his sisters, Bessie Gibson and Grace Derks. VISITATION : Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 4-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES: Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Kids Hope USA. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery.
