Harold J. "Red" VandenBosch, age 80 of White Cloud, formerly of Holland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at his home. Red was the youngest of 9 children born on September 7, 1939 in Holland to Koenie and Dena (Balder) VandenBosch and later met and married Linda Fowler on March 31, 1979 in Fennville. Red had worked as an auto salesman for United Motor Sales in Holland for many years until his retirement and then started his 2nd career as the head of the maintenance department at the Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Holland until his final retirement. Red moved to the area in 2002 from Holland and enjoyed the woods and waters of the area and also hunting and fishing. Red enjoyed traveling the United States and spending quality time in Florida with many friends.
Red is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda; his children, Bonnie (Doug) Kronemeyer; Christine Elder; Tammy (Tim) Scholten; Jay (Judith) VandenBosch; Yvette Smith; his grandchildren, Autumn, Curtis, Nichole, Beth, Isaiah, Addison; several great grandchildren; his sister, Hilda VanderYatch; several brothers and sisters-in-laws; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Red was preceded in death by his 7 brothers and sisters.
In accordance with Red's wishes, a private Celebration of Life Service will be held at the family home and Memorial Services will be held in Florida at a later date to be determined.
