Hazel Elizabeth Eib, age 100 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Hazel was born on July 10, 1901 in Jackson Township, Illinois to Alexander and Caroline (Relf) Keir and married James Dwight Eib on October 1922 in Illinois. James preceded her in death in 1963. Hazel had been a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church in Fremont where she had been active in various committees. She had also attended the Christian Womens Fellowship of Newaygo County. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marcia Eib of Fremont; grandson, Ross (Roberta) Eib of Oakdale, Minnesota; 1 granddaughter, Sonnie Eib. She was preceded in death by her son, Don on March 23, 1995 and 1 daughter, Virginia in February 1932; sister, Mildred Broadrick; brothers, Alex and Floyd Keir. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 27, 2001 from the First Baptist Church in Fremont with Rev. Kenneth Pierpont Sr. and Rev. Clyde Afman presiding with interment in the Elwood Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Friends may consider the First Baptist Church Library Fund for memorial contributions.
