Helen Mae Burkholder, age 98 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, October 05, 2011 at her home following a short illness. Helen was born on May 22, 1913 in Elkhart, Indiana to Vernon A. and Lula (VanScoik) Yoder and graduated from Concord High School in 1932. Helen later married Lowell H. Burkholder on March 4, 1934 in Elkhart and Lowell preceded her in death on February 19, 2002. Helen and Lowell moved to the White Cloud area in 1950 where Helen was an active member of the White Cloud Mennonite Church, had enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Helen is survived by her children, Howard (Carol) Burkholder of White Cloud; Marjorie (Allen) Christner of East Jordan, Michigan; Miriam (Sanford) Christophel of Goshen, Indiana; Delbert (Betty) Burkholder of White Cloud; Carolyn Burkholder of Kansas City, Kansas; Doris (Dean) Roberts of Vian, Oklahoma; Nelson (Virginia) Burkholder of Canton; Ohio; Ruth Ann (Calvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Kansas; Ed (Carol) Burkholder of Elkhart, Indiana; 26 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Burkholder; her granddaughter, Cathy Rohrer; her sister, Merle Hartman; her brothers, Clyde Yoder and Ray Yoder. VISITATION : Friday, October 7, 2011 from 6-8pm at the White Cloud Mennonite Church and Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 10-11am at the church.
