Helen Ruth Norkus, age 85, of Fremont, passed away on April 15, 2011, at Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Helen was born on May 17, 1925, in Holton to John and Lydia (Lewis) Christensen and married Brownie Norkus on December 10, 1966, in White Cloud. She retired from Gerber Products Company after 21 years and belonged to the Holton American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose Chapter #401 Fremont. Helen was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. Helen is survived by her husband Brownie of Fremont; sisters-in-law Stella Norkus and Mary Norkus; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Rusell Christensen, Raymond Christensen, Grace Christensen, and Anna Moschke; brothers-in-law, Tony Norkus and Victor Norkus; and sister-in-law Audrey (Tony) Norkus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011, at 11 AM at All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Rev. Father Peter Omogo officiating. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the Mass on Monday with a Rosary at 10AM at the Church. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
