Obituary

Helma Zuwerink, age 83, of Fremont passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home with her family. Helen was born on July 3, 1930 in Gustavsburg, Germany to Fritz and Anna (Maurer) Daum and had worked at Gerber Memorial Hospital. Helen met Al Zuwerink, who was serving as an Air Force pilot during WWII, at a caf in Germany and married on January 11th & 12th, 1952. Following his service in the military they came back and made Fremont their home. Helen enjoyed singing, traveling, reading her Bible, and was active in the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Newaygo County. Helen was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. Helen is survived by her children, Pamela (Rick Wilson) of Fremont and Connie (Cal) Kuehnl of Muskegon; grandchildren, Bryan (Tina) Kuehnl, Anita Wiggins; great grandchildren, Valerie and Renae Kuehnl and Kyle and Brandon Coons; and sister, Lottie Baldic of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin and brother-in-law, Warren Baldic. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11 from 6 8 PM at the Holton United Methodist Church with a memorial service the following day (Saturday, July 12) at 11 AM at the Church.
