Herbert F. Cross, age 86, of Fremont, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Transitional Health Services in Fremont. He was born on December 2, 1915, in Grand Rapids to Herbert S. and Mary (Pierce) Cross. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Muskegon Council. He was a graduate of Grand Rapids Catholic High School in 1934 and University of Michigan in 1938. He started working in 1939 for the Pere Marquette Railroad, which later became the C & O Railroad and was station agent in Fremont at his retirement. He is survived by his nephew, Robert Cross; aunt, Evelyn Johnson; the Cross Family; his friends, Joe; Hazel; Elaine; Marvin; and many of his golf friends who were his family. Special thanks from the family for the excellent care given to Herb by the doctors and nurses at Gerber Memorial Health Services and Transitional Health Services. A Scripture Service was held 8 PM Sunday evening with a Funeral Mass held Monday, April 15, 2002, at 11 AM from the All Saints Catholic Church. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
