Hilda M. Boukamp, age 85 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2001 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. She was born on November 23, 1915 in Mooreland Township to Andrew and Ellen (Lorensen) Sorensen and married Tom Boukamp in Muskegon. Tom preceded her in death in 1991. She had been a assembly live corefiler for Lakes Foundry in Muskegon for several years before her retirement. She has been a resident of the Hesperia area for the past 35 years where she was a member of the Hesperia Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing and cooking. She is survived by her son, John (Martha) Boukamp of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Susie Boukamp of Muskegon; Brian (Nancy) Boukamp of Twin Lake; Lynda (Darrel) Siegel of Zista, CA; 5 great grandchildren, Tom, Lisa, Diane, Tim, Alex; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Anna Majkol of Hesperia; brother-in-law, Bob (Doris) Whalen; nieces, Ellen (Dale) Hobart; Annie (Larry) Hanks. She was preceded in death by a sister, Olena Whalen. Funeral memorial services were held on Thursday, September 13, 2001 from the Hesperia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dick Cotton presiding with interment in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon. Friends may consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for Newaygo County Community Services - Childrens Christmas Fund for memorial contributions.
