Robinson, Hilda Belle Hilda Belle Robinson, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Hilda Belle was born on May 20, 1925 in Fremont to Frank and Lucy (Fowler) Goodwin and later married Howard C. Robinson on April 27, 1945 in Fremont. Howard preceded her in death on April 27, 1993. Hilda Belle has been a lifelong resident of Holton Township where she worked on the family farm with her husband for 48 years. She had been an operator for Bell Telephone in Fremont for several years. Hilda Belle enjoyed spending time with her family including keeping busy with her grandchildren on the farm. Hilda Belle enjoyed traveling, cooking, and sewing. She volunteered many hours at Gerber Memorial Hospital and visiting her friends at Newaygo Medical Care Facility. Hilda Belle was also an active member of Fremont United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, John (Gerri) Robinson of Fremont; Barbara Mather of Lansing; Stephen (Barbara) Robinson of Holton; Kim (Holly) Robinson of Hesperia; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a special lifelong friend, Peggie Stone of Fremont; several nieces and nephews. Hilda Belle was preceded in death by her sisters, Eloise Hellems and Barbara Goodwin and brother, Robert Goodwin. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 31, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Larry Wood of the Fremont United Methodist Church presiding with interment in the Clark Cemetery west of Fremont. Friends may consider the Fremont United Methodist Church or Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids for memorial contributions in memory of Hilda Belle.
