Howard R. Burkholder, age 83 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his home in White Cloud. Howard was born on June 10, 1934 to Lowell H. and Helen Mae (Yoder) Burkholder in Goshen, Indiana and later moved to White Cloud where he graduated from White Cloud High School. Howard married Helene Prime in September 1957 and Helene preceded him in death on March 28, 1958. Howard later married Carol Ann Jones on October 16, 1960 in White Cloud. Howard had been a loader operator for Briggs Lumber Company for over 40 years and was a member of the White Cloud Mennonite Church. Howard enjoyed working, reading, singing at church, vegetable gardening and after retirement driving his van around the area. Howard is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, John (Jean) Burkholder of White Cloud; Tom (Sheri) Burkholder of Newaygo; his grandchildren, Kenny, Berline, Brent, Sharon, Jacob, Alan (Ashley), Dylan, Lily, and Rosa; 7 great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Marjorie (Allen) Christner of East Jordan, MI; Miriam (Sanford) Christophel of Goshen, Indiana; Delbert (Betty) Burkholder of White Cloud; Carolyn Burkholder of Kansas City, Kansas; Doris (Dean) Roberts of Vian, Oklahoma; Ruth Ann (Calvin) Hershberger of Topeka, Kansas; Ed (Carol) Burkholder of Elkhart, Indiana; sister-in-law, Virginia Burkholder of North Canton; Ohio; his aunt, Mildred Yoder of Goshen, Indiana; several cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Burkholder and Nelson Burkholder. VISITATION : Monday, April 23, 2018 from 5-8pm at the White Cloud Mennonite Church 810 S. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
