Hugh L. Harper, age 49 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday at his home following a long battle with Lou Gehrigs disease. Hugh was born on Sept. 1, 1959 in Fremont to Harry W. and Jannette (Bitson) Harper and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1978. Hugh met and later married Peggy Parsons on September 2, 1989. He had been a self employed plumber for many years and had worked in the maintenance department at the Kent Intermediate School District for several years. Hugh was a loving and devoted father and treasured the time spent with his family. Hugh especially enjoyed teaching his son to hunt. Hugh is survived by his wife, Peggy of White Cloud; his son, Nathaniel and daughter, Erin of White Cloud; his mother, Jannette Harper of White Cloud; his brothers and sisters, Harold (Rachael) Harper of Grand Haven; Helen (Bruce) Ammer of Carmichael, California; Kris (Tom) Jordan of Parchment, Michigan; Eric Harper of White Cloud; Neil (April) Harper of Crystal River, Florida; Rebecca (Randy) Machiele of Newaygo; many nieces and nephews; his uncle, Leonard (Nancy) Harper of White Cloud; his aunt, Janice Teeters of Grand Rapids; father-in-law, Colen (Mary) Parsons of White Cloud; several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry W. Harper on August 6, 1982 and by his mother-in-law, Rosemary Parsons on June 1, 1990. VISITATION : Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
