Johnson, Ida Grace Ida Grace Johnson, age 86 of Fremont, went to be with her husband in heaven for eternity on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services following surgery. Ida was born on July 10, 1918 in Springfield, Ohio to Pinkney David and Arvilla (Smith) Claypool and later married Edward L. Johnson on December 28, 1940 in Fremont, Ohio. Edward preceded her in death on December 15, 1990. Prior to Edwards passing, Ida and Edward enjoyed traveling to Oregon and needed nothing else in life other than to be with each other. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis, (Paul) Coons of Newaygo; Darlene (Kerry) Grove of Newaygo; Vicki (Harvey) VanZant of Fremont; Bonnie (Tom) Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana; her son, Richard (Ann) Johnson of Fremont; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; her sister, Myrtle Salcini of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Johnson; by her great grandchildren, Nicholas Smith and Devon Maurer and by 10 brothers and sisters. Private graveside services were held the follwing spring at Bridgeton Township Cemetery where both Ida and Ed will be interred following cremation.
