Ila N. Mason, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Ila was born on July 20, 1935 in Howard City to Marvin and Hazel (Connelly) Chase and moved to the White Cloud area in 1996 from Florida where she had been a homemaker. Ila married Ole Knutson and they were later divorced. Ila later married Herbert Mason and together they spent 55 years together until Herbert passed away on August 5, 1997. Ila enjoyed attending flea markets, playing cards, camping and attending family gatherings. Ila is survived by her children, JoAnn (Merlyn) Hanes of White Cloud; Norma Jean Perkins of Gainsville, Florida; David Knutson of Bronson, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Norma (David) Williams of Muskegon; Marlene (Robert) Bernard of Sears, Michigan; Eddie (Janice) Moffatt of Portland, Michigan; Mabel Schriener of Harrison; Arlene Duell of Twin Lake; George Chase of Twin Lake; Mark Chase of Twin Lake; brother-in-law, Warren Davis of Newaygo; step sister, Jane; her aunt, Marguerite Hubbell of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. Ila was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Hazel & Edwin Moffatt; her father and stepmother, Marvin & Mildred Chase; her sisters, Joyce McPerson and Vera Davis. VISITATION : Tuesday, September 25, 2011 from 5-8pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, September 28, 2011at 10:00am at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with cremation following.
