Irene L. Hunt, age 89 of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. Irene was born on June 13, 1917 in Walkerville to Robert E. and Elsie (Gleason) Clemens and graduated from Walkerville High School in 1936. She has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area where she had been an active member and enjoyed many activities at the Hesperia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Diane) Hunt of Byron Center; Donna (Bruce) Hallowell of Hesperia; Barbara (Rick) Martin of Hesperia; her son-in-law, Don Myers of Hesperia; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Myers on December 24, 2006, her grandson, Lee Robert Hunt; and by her sister, Jean E. Gleason.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 from the Hesperia United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Brillhart presiding with interment in the West Hesperia Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Hesperia United Methodist Church for kitchen supplies or Heartland Hospice for contributions in lieu of flowers.
