Irma J. Rooks, mother of Lorita Fernanders, Roy Holston, and Richard Holston, age 66 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2002 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. She was born on September 7, 1935 in Gary, Indiana to Lee and Mary (Holmes) Rooks and moved to the White Cloud area in 1999 from Gary, Indiana. She is survived by her children, Lorita Fernanders of White Cloud; Roy Holston of Gary, Indiana; Richard Holston of Gary, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Richard Holston Jr. of Minnesota; Darnisha Holston of Minnesota; Staff Sgt. Damon (Christa) Smith of Camp Pendelton, California; Lakisha (Stephen) Toland of Rochester, New York; 5 great grandchildren, Deja; Dakota; Dakayla; Richard III; her sisters, Shirley B. Alford of Chicago; Mamie Jean Washington of Gary, Indiana; her brother, William D. Rooks of Chicago; ex-husband, Royal W. Holtson of Gary, Indiana; a host of family and friends; special friends, Charlotte and Larry Dunham of White Cloud and Roger Palmiter of Newaygo.
