Isabel F. Prentiss, age 92 of Hesperia, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at her home. Isabel was born on Sept. 4, 1915 in Keweenaw Bay, MI to Arthur and Vernie (Draper) Rose and moved to Muskegon in 1929. She married Wesley Prentiss on August 22, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana and moved to the Hesperia area in 1946 from Muskegon. Isabel was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Muskegon and had been a nurses aid at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont for several years. Isabel also enjoyed working on the farm where she raised chickens, enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and knitting. She is survived by her children, Marilyn F. Allison of Muskegon; Gary (Carol) Prentiss of Fremont; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Nish (Neil) Lux of Twin Lake; her brother, Raymond Rose of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Uganski on Oct. 23, 2001; her sister, Eileen Rainwater and by her brothers, Ralph, Eldred, and Arthur Rose; her son-in-law, Harold Allison. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:30am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Mr. Skip Hick of the Community of Christ Church in Muskegon. Friends may consider the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired or Hospice of Michigan for memorial contributions in memory of Isabel.
