Jack K. Hoover, age 87 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Jack was born on August 15, 1927 in Big Prairie Township to George and Lorena (Westgate) Hoover and has been a longtime resident of the White Cloud area. Jack married Doris (Williams) Prestly in 1990 in Florida. Jack served in various branches of the military for over 20 years and retired from the United States Army 1969 as a Staff Sergeant. Jack was a member of the Croton Trinity Bible Church and was a Life Member of the Croton American Legion where he had been a member for over 30 years. Jack enjoyed traveling, listening to music, dancing and playing dice. Jack is survived by his wife, Doris of White Cloud; his son, Keith Hoover of Port Charlotte, Florida; step children, Ted (Charlene) Prestly of White Cloud; Gordon (Cathy) Prestly of White Cloud; Donna Kester of Grand Rapids; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his sister, Marion Richards of Big Rapids; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Roy Stuthard. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1:30pm at the Big Prairie Chapel on the corner of Pine and 20th Street. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
