Jack William
Shriver
February 14, 1944 – June 20, 2024
On June 20, 2024, Jack William Shriver went to be with his lord and Savior. He was born on February 14, 1944 to George and Mabel (Hubbard) Shriver in Fremont, Michigan. Jack attended Fremont Public Schools where he played basketball and football and graduated in 1962. He attended Michigan State University for 1 year when he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and served until his honorable discharge. Jack worked in Army Aviation and received his pilot's certification and was a member of the Holton American Legion #397. After two years serving in the U.S. Army, he returned home and worked on his family's farm. During his farming years, he served on the Newaygo County Farm Bureau Board for six years as a Chairperson of the Local Affairs Committee. He was also active in the Rural Urban Community Action Group and served on the Co-op Board. During this time, he also coached little league soccer and baseball and his last baseball team went undefeated.
Jack attended Rice Auction College in Iowa and in 1976, Larry Brinkman and Jack founded Brinkman – Shriver Auctioneers. Their slogan was "We'll holler for top dollar." In the 2000s, he was an auctioneer for Auction Connection with Bob Rottier. Jack retired from Erickson's Digging and Company in 2009 and was a member of the Teamsters Union. During his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling. He really enjoyed cutting wood and being in the woods with his team of horses. Jack loved building. He crafted additions to his house, the workshop, and toys for his grandkids. Jack enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was so proud of all of them. He loved watching them grow up!
In 2004, he met the love of his life, Chris Pierce. They have been together for 20 years and were married on April 13, 2024 making it the happiest day of his life. He is also survived by his sister Marilyn and her husband, John Tenpas. His children: son, Jeff (Stacy) Shriver, Nick Pierce, Angela (Jeremiah) Pierce, Chad (Brianna) Pierce. His grandchildren: Rileigh (Logan) Cope, Taven Shriver, Chloe Shriver, Tandem Shriver, Ella Shriver, Makayla Pierce, Ava Pierce, Niselle Pierce, Taryn Weiss, Tristan Morse, Fiona Pierce. Great Grandchildren: Brec Cope and Blair Cope. Several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his son, Joel William Shriver, brother George (Pat) Shriver and his parents George and Mabel Shriver.

MILITARY HONORS : Wednesday, June 26, 024 at 11:00 am at the Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, June 26, 2024 following the Military Honors at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
