James A. Barkhuff, age 57 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at his home. Jim was born on May 13, 1956 in Kent County to Dale and Katherine Barkhuff and later married Denise Macomber on May 14, 1993. Jim has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 29 years where he had been a operator with the IBEW Local 275 West Michigan working the majority of the time at Newkirk Electric. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Croton American Legion Post #381. Jim enjoyed fishing but truly cherished spending time with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife Denise of White Cloud; his children, Melissa Macomber (special friend, Chris Hensley) of White Cloud; Franklin Macomber of White Cloud; Dana Macomber (special friend, Nick Cole) of Flint; Ryan Macomber of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Franklin, Ian, Braydon, Hayden, Savannah, Phoenix, Derreck, Christopher; his brothers and sisters, Mike Barkhuff of Oregon; Jeff Barkhuff of Byron Center; Laurie (Tom) Rubley of St. Johns, Michigan; Sue (Al) Sodman of Elsie, Michigan; Ron Williams of Stanton. Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Deb Korcal, and his parents. VISITATION : Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 12-1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
