James F. Berean, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Jim was born on May 17, 1928 in Olivet, Michigan to Floyd and Ellen (Petersen) Berean. Jim met and married Betty Lou Burchard in December 1948 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Betty preceded him in death on May 6, 1992. Jim later met and married JoAnn Stephens on August 15, 1993 in Fremont. Jim has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he had been a residential and commercial painter for many years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed animals and had raised swans, dogs and horses for several years. Jim was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fremont and Muskegon. Jim is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Fremont; his children, James E. Berean of White Cloud; Lori (Monty) Proctor of Fremont; 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Tracey, Leah and Troy; step children, Dale Corke, Doreen Corke, Cynthia Wolfer; Sharon Gradziel, Stephen Corke; several step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William Berean and by his grandson, Scott Berean. VISITATION : Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 11am 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel.
