James Blurton, age 74 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. James was born on February 7, 1927 in Fancy Creek, Illinois to John and Lillian (Maples) Blurton and married Margaret Burdi on October 28, 1950 in Fremont. James had been employed at the Gerber Products Company in Fremont until his retirement in March 1987. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont and member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and a Life Member of the Fremont VFW, Laurels Post 6898. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Fremont; his daughter, Sharon Ann (Billy J.) Martin of Sandy, Utah; sons, Larry Richard (Sheila) Blurton of Eagan, Minnesota; Ralph John (Tina) Blurton of Bailey, Michigan; 6 grandchildren; his sister, Alice Cokemour of Springfield, Virginia. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral mass services were held on Monday, October 22, 2001 from the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with interment in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Fremont.
