James D. Stoney Stoneburner, age 58 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday at the Hackley Hospital following a short illness. He was born on June 28, 1946 in Muskegon to Ernest and Ruth (Hackett) Stoneburner and graduated from Muskegon High School. Jim married his wife, Gloria on Aug. 22, 1981 and had worked at the S.D. Warren, currently Sappi Paper Company in Muskegon for 34 years until his retirement on June 1, 2004. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era where he served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gloria of White Cloud; his sons, James (Shannon) Caughey of Montague; Robert Stoneburner of Muskegon; Staff Sgt. Daniel (Desiree) Stoneburner stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado; his grandchildren, Caley, Leah, Olivia, Dakota, Jager, and Danie Marie; his sister, Betty Stoneburner of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Lee Stoneburner. Memorial services were held on Monday at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, please consider the Gift of Life.
