Obituary

James Jim W. Dailey, age 78, of Hesperia, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home following a battle with COPD. Jim was born on September 9, 1937, in Muskegon Heights to William C. and Stella (Sutkaitis) Dailey. He married Sandra Lee Parketon on June 20, 1956, in Fremont. Jim drove semi for Darling Trucking and KeyLine freight prior to starting his own excavating business-Dailey Construction Company. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim is survived by his children, Sue Dailey of Fremont, Tim (Sheri) Dailey of Grant, Mary (Wayne) Veenstra of Holton, and Lee Ann (Todd) Lentner of Cedar Springs; his grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Dailey, Nichole Dailey, Heath (Leigh Ann) Warren, ; Jessica Veenstra, Lance (Kourtney) Veenstra, and Amanda Auw; 7 great grandchildren, Kelsi Auw, Aaron Auw, Sienna Dailey, Cameron Dailey, Braydon Butler-Veenstra, Macie Veenstra, and Kael Veenstra. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Dailey on April 13, 2001; son, Perry Dailey on March 8, 2007; his parents, William and Stella Dailey; step-mother, Louise Dailey; and his sister, Nellie Gleason. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 6 8 PM and from 1 2 PM on Saturday at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Dickinson officiating. Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Russell Gilbert Kids Free Fishing in White Cloud or Hospice of Michigan.
