James "Jim" S. Edwards, age 74 of Fremont, passed away at his home on Monday, March 1, 2021 following a lingering illness. Jim was born on October 10, 1946 in Muskegon to Donald S. and Cena Louise (Sproat) Edwards and graduated from Fremont High School in 1966. After graduation, Jim joined the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge and returned back to Fremont. Jim had worked at Howmet/Alcoa in Whitehall for several years until his retirement as a fabricator. Jim enjoyed going fast throughout his life and had been a racecar driver in his younger years, was an avid Harley Davidson rider, and had his aviation pilots license. Jim is survived by his sister and brothers, Dorothy (Carl) Gale of Hart; Donald (Nancy) Edwards of Fremont; Robert (Vanessa) Edwards of Frostfree, Florida; Ralph Edwards of Fremont; 8 neices and nephews; many great nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Donald S. Edwards in 1960 and by his mother, Cena L. Edwards in 2013. Military Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont following Jim's wishes for cremation.
