Obituary

James Richard Jim Flanery, age 50 of Walkerville, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont following a short illness. Jim was born on August 3, 1959 in Hart to Robert and Patricia (Brimmer) Flanery. Jim graduated from Walkerville High School in 1977. Jim married his high school sweetheart, Karen Warmuskerken on August 6, 1977 in Elbridge, Michigan and has been a lifelong resident of the Walkerville area. Jim had worked as a sheet metal Journeyman for Versatile Fabrication in Muskegon until his retirement. Jim was an avid vegetable gardener and never grew a flower you could not eat. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen of Walkerville; his children, Rob (Jen) Flanery of Walkerville; Jamie (Keith) Kowalski of Walkerville; Zack Flanery of Walkerville; his grandchildren, Brandon, Mason, Allen, Pryce, Owen, Trinity and Morgan; his father, Robert Flanery of Walkerville; brother, Randy (Bonnie) Flanery of Hart; sisters, Lynn (Victor) Sibley of Walkerville; Pam (Steve) Conteras of Hart; grandmothers, Mabel Flanery of Hart and Pauline Brimmer of Harte; his uncles, Norm (Linda) Flanery and Chuck (Linda) Brimmer; and his aunt, Cindy. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Zebulan Flanery on June 21, 2007 and by his mother, Patricia Flanery. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11am at the Walkerville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Doug Bennett, chaplain Heartland Hospice presiding with interment in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Walkerville. Friends may consider memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice for memorial contributions in memory of Jim.
