Obituary

James Jim H. Brinks, age 91 of White Cloud, formerly of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Jim was born on August 10, 1924 in Grand Rapids to Herman H. and Barbara (Dezeeuw) Brinks. Jim married Nancy Osenga on August 5, 1949 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 2006. Jim later married Pauline T. Maike on July 21, 2007 at Woodville Community Church and has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1980. Jim had been a cement contractor in commercial and residential construction until his retirement. Jim was a member of the Woodville Community Church and was a man of strong faith in the Lord. He enjoyed fishing and telling stories about his fishing adventures; boating and water skiing with his sons and spending his winters in Port Isabel, Texas. Jim was well known for his beautiful singing voice and loved to sing the hymns. He sang in churches from Michigan to Florida to Texas and back. One of his favorite hymns was How Great Thou Art. Jim is survived by his wife, Pauline of White Cloud; his sons, Jim (Carole) Brinks of Wyoming; Dan (Donna) Brinks of Kentwood; Jack (Connie) Brinks of Bulverde, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 13 step children and their spouses and many step grandchildren; his sister, Carolyn Grubb of Groveland, Florida. Jim was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. VISITATION : Friday, October 2, 2015 from 12:30pm 2pm at the Woodville Community Church 6206 N Pine Ave White Cloud. FUNERAL SERVICES : 2pm at the Woodville Community Church. INTERMENT : Woodville Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Woodville Community Church.
